Creativity & Imagination in the Class (10th FL Forum Thessaloniki)

Often feel that your teaching is turning into a vicious circle of tedious tasks dictated by a coursebook? Unlock your learners’ potential and empower them to express themselves with simple activities that stimulate imagination and allow students to become creative while learning English.

This three hour hands-on workshop focuses on:

  • How to encourage learners to use their imagination and develop creativity in and outside the class.
  • How they can develop speaking, writing, reading and listening skills with the aid of creativity and personalized learning.
  • How teachers can “transform” every day, routine class activities to ones that stimulate learners’ interest.
  • How to make the most of project work.
  • How to discourage learners from “copy-paste” practices
  • How to integrate seamlessly creativity and imagination into daily teaching without adding strain on the syllabus.
  • Alternative ways to give feedback so that learners can reflect on their end product.
  • The use of a diversity of tools ranging from pens and papers to tablets and mobile phones to facilitate language production.

Notice: You will be invited to draw, create hard copy and electronic booklets, pop-up cards, brochures, masks and movies to express your ideas and views using L2. We will also explore simple, everyday materials and free web 2.0 tools that can be used to stimulate creativity. Don’t forget to bring your coloured pencils, and mobiles or tablets.
