In this workshop we will look at the idea of thinking about and recording what we actually say as a starting point for drawing attention to grammar and vocabulary, rather than starting with the idea of a grammar rule and a lexical set.

In this workshop, we will do two things. We shall look at some familiar challenges in our teens classes and work our way out of them in a happy, practical and productive way.  We shall also reconsider the idea of differentiation and the tensions and limitations we might encounter in attempting to cater for a range of abilities - as well as what we might hope to enjoy in terms of progress along the way. Suitable for new teachers, seasoned veterans and trainers alike.

This 2 hour practical workshop will give participants a chance to work with a number of simple mobile technologies that they can use with their students both in the class and out. Lots of hands on practice as well as a chance to discuss how they might use these tools with their students. The session will work best if the participants have a laptop or tablet but if not then you will be able to follow most of the session with your telephone too.

A workshop on developing writing skills for A1-C2 CEFR levels

Students seem to be typing constantly on their devices, practically all day and sometimes, all night long. Yet, despite all the texting, teachers complain that their learners are often too weak to express themselves eloquently and students come up with all sorts of lame excuses to avoid producing a written text. How can you help your students develop their writing skills? How can you engage demotivated learners in class with practical activities? How can technology motivate learners?
