This month the British Council launches its new ground-breaking Teacher Development Pathway. Designed and developed for the Greek teaching context it leads to internationally-recognised qualifications and experience.
The pathway helps you assess and personalise your own professional development needs. It offers a blend of up-to-date face-to-face and online courses for each stage of your career from starting out to becoming a specialist.
For novice teachers the pathway aims to take you through the fundamental skills needed to teach English successfully in a variety of classroom settings before developing specialist skills needed in the primary and secondary context.
Completion of the pathway leads to an internationally-recognised qualification enabling the holder to work at one of the British Council’s worldwide teaching centres and is supported by accredited Teaching Assistantship at the British Council over a period of 1 to 5 years.
The British Council Teacher Development pathway represents a shift in focus towards career planning and establishing both national and transnational networks for future collaboration.
Through knowledge and experience sharing, it aims to provide professional development in keeping with the British Council’s distinctive profile and public image.
