ALTE Paris 2014 Scholarship launched by Cambridge English Language Assessment

Deadline for applications - 30 September 2013

New from Cambridge English Language Assessment, the scholarship for ALTE Paris 2014 is open to any teacher or post-graduate student involved in English language education, and gives the winner an ‘all expenses paid’ trip to the ALTE 5th International Conference, to be held in Paris from 10-11 April 2014.

The conference has become one of the largest and most influential multilingual events for the global language assessment community, and is organised by ALTE, the Association of Language Testers in Europe.

This year’s conference theme, ‘Language Assessment for Multilingualism: promoting linguistic diversity and intercultural communication’, promises to draw a diverse range of delegates to an event featuring some of the profession’s most influential thinkers, practitioners and policy makers.

The scholarship covers registration for the two-day event, up to three nights accommodation in Paris, travel costs and an invitation to attend the conference drinks reception.

Scholarship entrants must work or be studying in the fields of language learning, teaching and assessment and will have never attended an ALTE International Conference before. Entrants are asked to submit a short essay with the title ‘How a good language test can support effective learning’, and submissions will be judged on their originality, relevance to professional experience, and on their insight into language learning, teaching and assessment.
