The British Council has announced the procedure for the 2018 Assessment Research Awards and Grants for those who are involved or work in research into assessment. These awards recognise achievement and innovation within the field of language assessment and support British Council’s activities across the world.
The awards and grants are aimed at both research students and more experienced researchers in the area of assessment.
Assessment Research Grants
These are designed to promote research in the area of language assessment which will have a significant impact on assessment practice in the future.
Assessment Research Awards
These are open to students researching in the area of assessment and are designed to help support their work.
International Assessment Award
The International Assessment Award is made to an individual working for the promotion of excellence in language assessment on the international stage.
Innovation in Assessment Prize
The Innovation in Assessment Prize will be awarded annually to individuals or institutions who contribute significant innovative ideas to the development, delivery or validation of language.
Evaluation of proposals
Proposals will be independently peer-reviewed by three international experts in assessment and/or applied linguistics. The applications will then be reviewed by the British Council research team and the decision of the reviewers will be final.
